A 1-year-old Danish boy was diagnosed with Hurler’s syndrome, a life-threatening disease characterized by progressive deterioration of the central nervous system, physical mobility, and ultimately, death in children. In a collaborative effort, the child's medical team successfully transplanted him with donor cord blood stem cells sourced from the United States, providing hope for improved health and quality of life.
